Privacy Policy

The short version

• There is no account and no sign-up.
• We do not collect, receive or store anything you type into the app.
• Nothing you enter is uploaded to us. We have no server that could receive it.
• There is no analytics or tracking SDK in the app.
• The only third party involved is the advertising provider, and only for showing ads.

What the app stores, and where

Kneelog stores your daily check-ins, range-of-motion readings, exercises, milestones, medication reminders and notes on your device, inside the app's own storage area. That data is not accessible to other apps, is included in your device backups if you back up your device, and is deleted when you delete the app.

Your preferences — units, currency and similar settings — are stored the same way.

Health information

Kneelog records information about your recovery — pain scores, range of motion, swelling, exercises, medication reminders and your own notes. This is sensitive information, and it is treated accordingly:

• It is stored only on your device, in the app's own protected storage.
• It is never uploaded to us or to anyone else.
• It is never used for advertising, and it is never shared with the advertising provider or any other third party.
• It is not written to Apple Health, and Kneelog does not request access to Apple Health.
• The only way it leaves your device is if you export the PDF report yourself and choose where to send it.

Kneelog is a diary. It does not provide medical advice, does not diagnose, and is not a medical device. Always follow the instructions given by your surgeon and your physiotherapist.

Advertising

Kneelog is free and is paid for by advertising, supplied by Google AdMob. To show ads, the advertising provider may collect and process technical information such as your device's advertising identifier, device type, operating system version, coarse location derived from your IP address, and how you interacted with an ad.

This is handled by Google, not by us. We never receive that information about you individually — we see only aggregate revenue and performance figures.

Your choice about tracking

The first time it becomes relevant, the app explains what tracking means and then asks whether Kneelog may use your device's advertising identifier. You can say no. If you do, the app works exactly the same and you will see the same number of ads — they will simply be less relevant.

You can change your mind at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking on your device.

Buying the ad-removal purchase stops all advertising in the app, and with it all data collection by the advertising provider.

Purchases

In-app purchases are handled entirely by Apple. We never see your payment details. Apple tells the app only whether a purchase is active.

Children

Kneelog is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Your rights

Because we hold no personal information about you, there is nothing for us to export, correct or delete. To remove everything the app has stored, delete the app from your device.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new effective date. Material changes will also be described in the app's release notes.
