Who it's for
Membership organisations, course and content businesses, clubs and service companies who sell access by subscription, or want customers to help themselves instead of emailing for every document.
The outcome: A website that signs members up, takes their subscription, shows each one what they've paid for, and gives your team an admin to run it.
What's included
- A public website for people who haven't joined yet, mobile-first and set up for search.
- Sign-in by email link or password, with Sign in with Google or Apple if you want it.
- Content gated by membership level: pages, articles, videos, downloads or a members' directory.
- Subscriptions by Stripe Billing: monthly or yearly, free trials, upgrades and cancellations, with Stripe's customer portal for cards and invoices, on a Stripe account in your name.
- A member account area, or for a customer portal, each customer's own orders, documents, bookings or reports.
- An admin for your team to see members, change access and publish members-only content.
- The emails that keep it running: welcome, receipt, failed payment and renewal reminders.
- A privacy notice for what you collect, and a way to export or delete a member's data when they ask.
Not included
- Moving members and payments from another platform. We quote that once we know where they are now.
- A mobile app. If members need one, we quote it as its own project.
- Stripe's fees, video hosting and domain fees, paid by you so the accounts stay in your name.
How it runs
- Weeks 1 to 2Membership levels, what each can see, payments and the admin agreed and signed off, with the design. The scope sets the price and whether it takes four weeks or eight.
- Weeks 2 to 7Build, with a preview where you sign up, pay with Stripe's test cards and see the members' area, and a review call each week.
- Final weekStripe switched to live, test members through the whole journey, admin training, and launch.
Why trust us with it
This site has a client portal of its own, built by us: clients sign in to see milestones, requests, hours, documents and invoices, and card payments go through Stripe with webhooks that record each one.

Questions we get asked
For many creators those are the right choice, and we'll say so. A membership website of your own makes sense when platform fees on every payment add up, when you need content or rules those platforms don't support, when members' details should sit in your own systems, or when the portal is part of a service business rather than a content one.
Yes. Stripe Billing handles monthly and yearly prices, free trials, discount codes, upgrades and downgrades. Members change their card and download invoices through Stripe's customer portal, so your team doesn't have to.
Card details never touch the site: Stripe handles them. Passwords are stored hashed, sign-in links expire, every members-only page checks access on the server, and members can ask to export or delete their data. We write down what personal data the site holds and where, which you can use for your UK GDPR records.
A public site, sign-in, one or two membership levels with gated content, Stripe subscriptions, a member account area, an admin for your team and the emails that run it. Several levels with different rules, a customer portal reading from your other systems, or moving members from another platform move it towards £15,000, and we tell you which in the scope.
A 50% deposit to book the start date and the balance on launch. Prices exclude VAT.
A members' site keeps growing, so most go on Ongoing development from £1,500 a month: two reserved build days for new member features, a monthly release, and everything in Website care for the same site.
