Vue 2 reached end of life on 31 December 2023 and no longer gets security fixes from the Vue project. We audit your code and its dependencies, write a module-by-module migration plan with a fixed price, and migrate the first module to Vue 3 so you see the approach working on your own app.
We reply within one working day.
What you get
- 1An audit of your code, build and every dependency
- 2A module-by-module plan with a fixed price for the rest
- 3The first module migrated to Vue 3, tested and in your repository

Who it's for
Teams with a Vue 2 or Nuxt 2 web app still in use, whose dependencies are falling behind, who can't hire for an old stack, or whose security review has flagged an end-of-life framework.
The outcome: A written audit, a migration plan with a fixed price for the rest, and the first module running on Vue 3 in your codebase.
What's included
- An audit of the codebase: Vue and Nuxt versions, Options API and mixins, Vuex, Vue Router, filters, event buses and the other Vue 2 patterns that change in Vue 3.
- A dependency report: every library and UI kit (for example Vuetify 2, BootstrapVue or Element UI), whether it has a Vue 3 version, and what replaces it if not.
- A recommended route: an incremental move using Vue's migration build, a module-by-module rewrite, or, now and then, a fresh start. With the reasons, and the risks of each.
- The build moved from Vue CLI or webpack to Vite, where that's part of the plan.
- The first module migrated to Vue 3, using the Composition API and Pinia where they help, with tests, in your repository and running in staging.
- A migration plan in order, module by module, with a fixed price and timeline for the rest of the work.
- For Nuxt 2 apps, the same audit and plan for the move to Nuxt 3 or 4.
Not included
- Migrating the whole app. That's quoted after the audit, once we know its size and shape.
- New features during the migration. We keep them separate so the migration can be checked against the old app.
- A redesign. The migrated app looks and behaves the same unless you ask otherwise.
How it runs
- Week 1Access to the code, a call with whoever knows it best, then the audit and the dependency report.
- Week 2The recommended route and the migration plan, signed off by you, and the build moved to Vite if it's in the plan.
- Weeks 2 to 3The first module migrated, tested and running in staging, and the fixed price for the rest of the migration.
Why trust us with it
We have no published Vue client work to show, and we won't invent any. What you get to judge first is the audit: a written report on your own code and a migrated module you can run, before you commit to the full migration.

Questions we get asked
It still works, but Vue 2 reached end of life on 31 December 2023 and the Vue project no longer releases fixes for it, including security fixes. Many libraries have stopped supporting it too, and browsers keep changing. Commercial extended support exists if you need time, but it's a cost that buys time rather than a way forward.
Usually not. Vue 3 still supports the Options API, and Vue's migration build lets most Vue 2 code run on Vue 3 while it's updated piece by piece. We migrate module by module, keep the app working throughout, and only recommend a rewrite where the old code would cost more to move than to replace.
Only where it helps. The Composition API, with script setup, makes shared logic and TypeScript much easier, so we use it for anything we touch substantially. Components that work and rarely change can stay on the Options API, which Vue 3 supports.
Nuxt 2 reached end of life on 30 June 2024. Moving to Nuxt 3 or 4 is a bigger step than Vue alone, because routing, data fetching and modules changed, so the audit covers it separately and the plan prices it separately.
It depends on the size of the app and its dependencies, which is what the audit finds out. A small app can be a few weeks; a large one with an old UI kit can be a few months. The plan gives you a fixed price and a timeline before you commit to anything beyond the first module.
A 50% deposit to book the start date and the balance when the audit, plan and first module are delivered. Prices exclude VAT.
Most teams carry on with the migration on Ongoing development from £1,500 a month: reserved build days each month, migrating module by module with a release each month, then new features once it's done. Or take the plan to your own team: it's yours.
