Manchester, worked remotely
App developers in Manchester
We build iPhone and Android apps and websites for businesses in Manchester and Salford, working remotely at fixed prices. A lot of Greater Manchester work is media, content and security, and those shape what an app needs from day one.
We reply within one working day.
Local context
Media, content and security
MediaCity in Salford is where the BBC has its home alongside ITV and, as Salford City Council puts it, over 250 creative and tech businesses. Around 3,200 BBC staff work there across 26 departments. [1][2]
GCHQ has offices at Albert Square in the centre of Manchester, and Manchester Digital is the trade association for Greater Manchester's digital and tech companies. [3][4]
What that means for your app
Content and media apps live or die on video playback, offline downloads, rights windows and subscriptions. Those decisions affect which store rules apply (Apple and Google both have specific rules for reader and subscription apps), so we settle them before design, not after the first rejection.
If your customers are security-minded, they will ask how the app stores secrets, what it logs and what leaves the device. We keep keys out of the code, store sensitive data in the iPhone Keychain and Android Keystore, and can do work like speech or image analysis on the device so it never reaches a server.
How we work with Manchester businesses
We work remotely, with every client, wherever they are. The first conversation is a 20-minute call by phone or video. After that you get your own client portal from day one: milestones to approve, requests with response targets, documents, invoices and a written monthly report on a plan.
We don't have an office in any city on these pages. Our only address is our registered office in London, which takes post and is not somewhere to meet. We don't hold in-person meetings as standard. If a workshop in the room matters to your project, say so on the first call and we'll tell you honestly whether we can do it before you commit to anything.
Working hours are London time, Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 17:30. Contracts are fixed-scope and fixed-price, governed by the law of England and Wales.
Fixed prices
The same prices for Manchester as everywhere else, agreed before we start. Prices exclude VAT.

Questions we get asked
Yes. Because we work remotely, it makes no difference whether you're in the city centre, at MediaCity in Salford or anywhere else in Greater Manchester. The process, the prices and the response times are the same.
Yes. The first questions are about rights and money rather than code: where the video is hosted, whether people can download it, how subscriptions are sold and whether you need to support AirPlay or Chromecast. Our own iPhone app, Cuefold, records and edits video on the device, so we know the video side of iOS well.
No. What makes an app project go well is a clear scope, a fixed price, regular builds you can install and a single place to see progress, and all of those work the same over a video call. We send a test build you can install on your own phone at each milestone, so you judge the app itself, not a slide deck.
Book a 20-minute call or send the enquiry form. We reply within one working day. If it looks like a fit, we send a written proposal with a fixed scope, price and timeline, and nothing starts until you sign it off.
